With the newly designed CP15-3, DYNACORD fulfills a longtime customer demand for a cost-effective, mechanically extremely robust high-performance 15" 3-way cabinet in the 131dB-class to be used in professional, portable sound reinforcement applications for small and medium-size events. The rugged enclosure is manufactured from Mediapan and resists even the most hardwearing strain during transport and operation. The CP15-3 employs the proven Electro-Voice DL 15Y for the low frequencies. The midrange is equipped with a DYNACORD MFT2008 transducer for an excellent horizontal coverage and extremely low distortion. A HFT3008 Constant Directivity Horn reproduces the high frequency range. With its power handling capacity of 800 watts (continuous program), a maximum sound pressure level of 131dB, and a frequency response of 50Hz - 18kHz, the CP15-3 is perfectly suited to be operated as full-range cabinet or as mid-high-range part in cost-effective active or passive satellite systems. The crossover has been optimised for comparably long-throw and smooth radiation characteristics, allowing the use of the CP15-3 even under acoustically challenging conditions. The acoustic roll-off to lower frequencies is realised as an acoustic PowerMax transfer function, so subwoofers with integrated PowerMax crossover networks, e.g. CP18-1 SUB, can be operated simply in parallel without the need for an additional amplifier or crossover unit. Professional halogen-protectors and thermal circuit breakers protect the loudspeaker components against damage from short-term thermal overload. Thus, the CP15-3 is ideally suited for many cost-sensitive rental business applications. The enclosure is sealed with black, extremely durable structure lacquer and the strong powder-coated steel grille protects the loudspeaker components against any mechanical damage. The recessed mounted SPEAKON-type connectors allow hassle-free operation of the CP15-3 cabinet even when space matters.
