With the newly designed CP12-2, DYNACORD fulfills a longtime customer demand for a cost-effective, mechanically extremely robust high-performance 12" 2-way cabinet in the 122dB-class to be used in professional, portable sound reinforcement applications for small and medium-sized events. The asymmetrically shaped enclosure is manufactured from Mediapan and resists even the most hardwearing strain during transport and operation. The CP12-2 employs a DYNACORD LFT3008 for reproduction of bass and midrange frequencies, which has proven its capabilities over many years. It is also furnished with a HFT 3008 Constant Directivity Horn reproducing the high frequency range. With its power handling capacity of 300 watts (continuous program), a maximum sound pressure level of 122dB, and a frequency response of 70Hz - 18kHz, the CP12-2 is perfectly suited to be operated as full-range cabinet or as mid-highrange part in cost-effective active or passive satellite systems. The crossover network has been optimised for long-throw and smooth radiation characteristics allowing the use of the CP12-2 even under acoustically challenging environmental conditions. The acoustic roll-off to lower frequencies is realised as an acoustic PowerMax transfer function, so subwoofers with integrated PowerMax crossover networks, e.g. CP12-1SUB, can be operated simply in parallel without the need for an additional amplifier or external crossover unit. Professional halogen-protectors and thermal circuit breakers protect the loudspeaker components against damage from overload. Thus, the CP12-2 is ideally suited for many cost-sensitive rental business applications. The enclosure is sealed with black, extremely durable structure lacquer and the strong powder-coated steel grille protects the loudspeaker components against any mechanical damage. The recessed mounted SPEAKON-type connectors allow hassle-free operation of the CP12-2 cabinet even when space matters. The asymmetrically shaped enclosure also allows employing the cabinet in monitoring applications that require extended lowfrequency response compared to regular monitor speakers.
